KAMFilms officially started a nearly 5 years ago when a group
of York, PA friends were approached with the idea of taking their skating footage, and turning it into a full length video.
From that moment on, nothing would ever be the same again. With nothing better to do, and possibly watching one
too many skating videos, they took the idea and put it to work. Slowly, as things took a more serious turn, they
became more serious about their place in the skateboarding industry.
Starting small and independent, KAMFilms has always worked within a
laid back group that only cared about a few things; big gaps, skateboarding, filming, and grabbing sick tricks on video.
With inspirations like Bam Margera's CKY videos, Big Brother, and 411VM; KAM Films released their first video in June
of 2002 called, "Skate Like It's Your Last". After being picked up by their brother company, Destruction Films which
is based out of Baltimore, Maryland; KAMFilms was given the opportunity to go bigger.
The crew, that has been ever changing for one reason or another, takes
their job not so seriously all of the time. "Our goal is to have fun and just do what we love, and if our video's do
well, then that's fucking great, " says owner and creator of KAM Films, Krisi. In the summer of 2003, Krisi met a group
of local York guys who also made their own skateboarding videos called, TJS (The Joe Show). Owner and creator Joey Delorifice
and Krisi, joined forces to make KAMFilms what it is currently; complete with sponsored skate team, and a new video that
contains a larger crew. As well as other sponsors and more brother/sister companies.
"It's been really hard work, and I think I speak for all of us when
I say that sometimes we can get seriously frustrated and ready to quit; but we love skating and filming, and it's
fun no matter what. How can you leave something like that behind?"
The crew plans on filming and skating as long as their allowed to;
and even if they aren't, who's against breaking some rules? Definitely not them...
